There was was a time when Bollywood used follow one Music artist at a time. Say for a instance it used to be era of Kumar Sanu where almost all the films had to pick him for 2 to 3 songs for the film. Then there was era of Udit Narayan, Abhijeet, Sonu Nigam and so on..
Now its a era of Music Manthan
I call this era as a Manthan where you have so many favorites same time. You like Kyonki tumhi ho by Arijit Singh and also you say "Galiyaan" by Ankit Tiwari my favorite too. "Tu Chahiye" by Atif Aslam is on repeat mode of your smartphone music player. On the other hand "Lat Lag Gayee" is pinned in your personal computer's music player.Hope by now you got the topic which I want to convey here. This was never the case before with our Bollywood music. Do not take me wrong I did not use any of the examples of female artist above. Even female artists names are bigger then ever like Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Neeti Mohan, Tulsi Kumar, Mamta Sharma and many many more.
Reality shows also have contributed a lot for the industry which helped put the spot lights on the new talents all around the country. And that is where we started to get variety on our music too. As the list of better singers and music composers gets increased, the listeners of this era also have improved. We now have more knowledge on what music is (if not totally, we know enough details to be a good listener). May be even this was possible through the help of us following the reality talent hunt shows.

All in all fact is it is good to see the industry is able to provide Roti, Kapda and Makaan (in straight word WORK :-) ) to many new faces. On the other hand we listeners are able to have variety and favorites to be followed and cheer for.
Collectively when you think about these all points, you will feel like there some kind of Manthan is going on in the music industry. Hence I called it a era of "Music Manthan.
